Week of November 18, 2019

Important Dates:

-Early Dismissal Wed., Nov. 27th @ 12
-No School Nov. 28th-Dec. 2nd
-Progress Reports Tues., Dec. 3rd 
-Dress Down Friday, Dec. 13th
-K-6 Concert Saturday, Dec. 14th
-Party Money $6 due as soon as possible.

-Book Challenge- Read nightly - submit your paper once you have read 10 books.

-Snack Time- Please do not send candy with your child.  This is supposed to be a snack that fills their belly until lunch time.


Reading: 
Our next story's focus is on text structures or sequence.  Fluency passage due Friday.

Spelling:
List #6 corrections (3x each) due tomorrow, post test Wed., Nov. 28th

Grammar:
This unit's focus will be about nouns, starting with singular and plural nouns.

-Math- The focus of this next unit will be addition and subtraction and different strategies we can use to solve those problems.  Homework Tuesday-Thursday.

-Science- Our focus for this marking period will be the solar system.  Moon calendar due Mon., Dec. 9th.  Students should observe the moon and shade it in on their paper. Planet research information due Tues., Nov. 19th.  There will be a sun, moon and star quiz next Tuesday; study guide was sent home Friday.


Reminders: 
Our nightly homework will consist of a math sheet, review the spelling and vocab words, and reading fluency passage.  Some nights I will also send home a decodable reader.  Please take time to read it with your child and also model reading (fluency, expression, etc.).  Remember the most up to date homework can be found on my homework blog.
