Reading:
We are back to learning about character and setting. We will be reading many books this week and focusing on that skill. Test will be next week (Tuesday).
Grammar:
We are finishing our study on subjects and will be starting predicates later this week.
Spelling:
List #3 post test is scheduled for Thursday. Reminder: there are three additional words given to your child that are not on the test. This is the application part of the test- to see if they can apply the phonics rule to spell a word. The phonics rule for list #3 is consonant blends.

Sight word list #2 came home Friday. Test is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 19th. The list will be available to practice on Spelling City once the list has been sent home.
Math:
There will be a graph quiz Wednesday, and a tally mark quiz Friday. Math fact practice will be coming home Monday-Thursday night. Please make sure they are completed and returned the following day. Math fluency assessments will happen throughout the week when I feel the children are ready; the assessments are not timed. Please continue to encourage your child to practice their facts on Xtra Math.
We are finishing up our study of the sun, moon and planets. Test will be next week (Monday).
