Reading:
We are going to spend one more day reviewing main idea/details, test Tuesday. The next skill will be character and setting. We will be practicing this skill the rest of this week and next week as well, test next Friday.
Math:
There will be a missing math number quiz Wednesday, and an even/odd quiz Thursday. Math fact practice will be coming home Monday-Thursday night. Please make sure they are completed and returned the following day. Math fluency assessments will happen throughout the week when I feel the children are ready; the assessments are not timed. Please continue to encourage your child to practice their facts on Xtra Math.
Spelling:
List #3 pre-test is scheduled for Tuesday, post test next Thursday. Reminder: there are three additional words given to your child that are not on the test. This is the application part of the test- to see if they can apply the phonics rule to spell a word. The phonics rule for list #3 is consonant blends.

Sight word list #2 will be coming home Friday. Test is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 19th. The list will be available to practice on Spelling City once the list has been sent home.
Science:
We are learning what the sun, moon and planets are like. A study guide is coming home today. Test is tentatively scheduled for next Wednesday.
