Reading:
The focus for this week's story is author's purpose and the strategy is text structure. The test will be next Wednesday. Speed drills are in the folders today, they are due back Friday.
Grammar:
We are learning about proper nouns and also verbs; quiz will be next Tuesday.
Spelling:
List #7 post test will be Friday. Spelling homework tonight (12/10)- write words incorrect 3x each. Dojo points for each extra night words are practiced (written). Sight word tests will resume after break.
Writing: Think of someone to write a biography about; ideas are due Thursday. This needs to be a real person with some interest to the student.
Math:
The next focus in math will be addition and subtraction. We will begin by working on fact families and ways to add three numbers together. Fact fluency will resume this week with time tests. Students will have 2 minutes to complete the quizzes. Homework Monday - Thursday night.
Science:
Our study of weather is off to a great start. We are keeping a daily weather journal by graphing the current weather conditions.
