Reading:
We begin our first story this
week. Please refer to the sheet in their
folder to help them prepare for this week’s skill. This will carry over into next week and test
will be Tuesday (Sept. 17th).
Spelling:
List #1 is in y our child's folder. We are focusing on words with short vowels. Post test is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 12th. Pretest #2 will be Wednesday, Sept. 18th.
-Grammar- We will begin discussing
simple sentences.
-Math- Our first unit focuses on
place value and ways to organize and represent information. Homework
Monday-Thursday.
-Social Studies- We are discussing
community helpers.
Reminders:
Our nightly homework will consist
of a math sheet, review the spelling and vocab words, and reading fluency
passage. Some nights I will also send
home a decodable reader. Please take
time to read it with your child and also model reading (fluency, expression,
etc.). Remember the most up to date
homework can be found on my homework blog.
