Thank you for all of your basket donations! I will be posting a picture next week. Any student that donated to our basket will receive a ticket for a special prize drawing at the auction. They will also receive a free dress down day.
Reading:
Our new story is on realistic fiction, focusing on sequence. This is a great time to read with your child and have them retell the story is sequential order. Vocab and comprehension test Friday (4/18). Reading fluency passage due Friday, this is not optional. Students have to read it twice every night while being timed. The time gets logged on the paper along with parent initials. Speed drill due Friday- Dojo points if completed.
Grammar:
We continue our work with verbs, quiz next Thursday (4/17).
Spelling:
List #14 post test Monday (4/15) Monday homework- write incorrect words 3x each. Dojo points for extra practice.
Math:
Unit 5 focuses on time and measurement. We will continue discussing time this week and begin exploring measurement. Quiz on time Wednesday. Please encourage your child to read an analog clock at home while using vocabulary like half passed, quarter after, and quarter to. Homework Monday-Thursday night.
Science:
We begin discussing different forms of matter- solids, liquids and gases.
