Week of October 21, 2019

Important Dates/News:
-Red Ribbon Week - Oct. 21st-25th
-Trunk or Treat Tues., Oct. 29th 6-8 PM in the high school parking lot
-Halloween Party Thursday, Oct. 31st
-Report Cards Fri., Nov. 8th 

-Party Money $6 due as soon as possible.

Reading: 
We will continue studying poetry this week.  Wednesday HW- write an acrostic poem with first name.  Fluency passage due Friday.

Spelling:
List #4 post test Thursday.  Sight word test 10/29 

-Grammar- We continue working on sentences this week, but will be adding exclamatory (!), quiz next week.

-Math- We will continue exploring place value concepts.  Value of a number quiz Wednesday.  Homework Monday, Wednesday & Thursday.

-Social Studies- We wrap up our project this week and begin looking at differences of our towns from long ago and now.  HW this week - bring in a current picture of your town.

Reminders: 
Our nightly homework will consist of a math sheet, review the spelling and vocab words, and reading fluency passage.  Some nights I will also send home a decodable reader.  Please take time to read it with your child and also model reading (fluency, expression, etc.).  Remember the most up to date homework can be found on my homework blog.
